TRAUDE FRITZ (CONTRALTO) - A distinctive voice from Vienna –
A voice which nobody can forget having heard it.

Traude Fritz was born in Vienna. The timbre of her voice has a strong resemblance to the English contralto Kathleen Ferrier (1912-1953). She was "discovered" by the Dutch
contralto Paula Salomon-Lindberg (1897-2000) and studied singing under the famous singer Gerda Scheyrer (1923-1999) who had the title Kammersängerin (a title conferred on singers of outstanding merit).

Traude Fritz very early demonstrated her musical talent when she gave her first concert at the young age of 12.

Traude Fritz also attended numerous international master classes, under leadership of Kammersänger (s. above) Walter Berry, Prof.Mag.Dr.h.c. Karen De Pastel, Prof.Mag. Ralf Döring, Prof.Mag. Franz Lukasovsky, Prof.Dr. Michael Lakner and Fiorenza Cossotto.

She also studied at two conservatoires in Vienna, the Prayner Conservatoire and the Gustav Mahler Conservatoire.

Her REPERTOIRE includes mainly works from the 17th, 18th and 19th century, from the Arie Antiche to Mozart and Schubert. It contains arias, cantatas, "lieder" as well as sacred music.

Traude Fritz has made numerous CONCERT TOURS, for example, to the festival city of Salzburg where she worked with the ensemble Consortio Musicale in two functions, one as musical director and also as performer. Other concert tours included the city of Innsbruck for the "Festival der Alten Musik" (Festival of Old Music) and a concert with the "Wiltener Sängerknaben" (Choirboys of Wilten), in addition there have been tours to:

In Vienna, Traude Fritz regularly performs during the "Bezirksfestwochen" (Vienna District Festival Weeks) and at events of the "Kulturherbst", where she has been accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Lipezk (RU). In the 12/14/2011 the German television broadcasting station MDR in the popular series
"Außenseiter-Spitzenreiter" dedicated to her an own broadcasting segment.
